Type Locality and Naming

Along the village of Ammagan, foothills of the Gissar Range, Shurasan Anticline. G.Yu. Alferov et al., 1969. Stratotype in the area of the village of Ammagan.

Synonym: Ammagan Suite, Аммаганская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Alluvial-proluvial brown, brownish-brown, and mottled conglomerates, gravelites, sandstones, siltstone (aleurolites) with interlayers of marls. Thickness 550m.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Overlies the Shurasan suite with erosion

Upper contact

Overlain with erosion by the Guzar suite

Regional extent

Western foothills of the Gissar Range, interfluve of the Tanhyzdarya and Kyzyl-Darya rivers, Kashkadarya Depression.
